Top 5 Things That Must Be Banned In India!

India is a country with over 1.21 billion population from a large variety of castes, creeds, classes, beliefs, religions, and social-economic backgrounds living together. This consequently comes with never-ending problems, crime, disproportion, disparity, inequality, difference in ideas, etc. In our day-day life, we stumble upon several things that are infuriating and start blaming either the government or people to be liable. One day coming across such an annoying thing, I started researching this matter, asking people out there about their take on what they find exasperating in their daily life and those particularly need to be banned in India.

1.  Tobacco

Well, many end up their life making tobacco their daily habit, and some fight against the deathly disease for a lifetime. According to (WHO) report, there are more than 120 million smokers in India that comprise 12% of the world’s smokers. Approximately 10 million people lose their lives every year particularly due to tobacco-associated diseases. In 2015, the number of men consuming tobacco escalated to 108 million. Oral cancer is a commonly agonized disease among people usually caused by tobacco for reformation.

Pan Masala, Gutka, and cigarettes are enormously expanding the market that for many has become an addiction. Some states in India have already banned while others still not giving due importance. Tobacco use not only contributes to deaths but adversely affects national economies through increased healthcare costs, and decreased productivity. It worsens health inequalities, social-economic lifestyle and relationship bonds, etc.

2.    Littering in Public Spaces

Public littering has been a concern for hundreds of years, people clean their personal homes but litter their own country, community, state, society, surroundings, roads, etc. This results in an increase in pollution and simultaneously develop hundreds of deathly disease. Sadly, according to a recent report in 2019, 7 of the top 10 most polluted cities in the world are in India.

Gurugram is in the top 1 most polluted city in 2019 with Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Bhiwadi, and Noida in the top six most polluted cities in the world. Surprisingly, air pollution is expected to cause the death of an estimated 7 million lives across the world next year and cost the world’s economy nearly $ 225 billion. People here in India, either keep on blaming the government for not cleaning the dirt or accusing the other people but in the meantime forget their own responsibility towards the country. Being a citizen of the country, are you not responsible make India pollution-free & cleaner?

3.    Self-style Godmen

Today, numerous godmen can be seen spreading superstition, delusion, false notions, etc.    Across the length and breadth of India following the same tricks and fooling the blind followers over and over again.  Although, there are few who truly have the desire to spread goodness, humanity, and unity while others live a luxurious life, indulging in several criminal cases, and looting people.  Godmen like Ashram, Ram Rahim, and Nirmal Das, Rampal Das live in glamorous life, surrounded by muscular bodyguards, having strong political connections and millions of blind followers who pay thousands merely to hear their preach, congregations, and satsangs.

But beneath this spiritual talk lies a threatening world where murky rapes, land grabbing, murders, dealing, and other such evil activities reign supreme. A case in point is Ram Rahim who has been convicted of rape cases. And the blind followers remain believing in the false notion. Do we actually need such Godmen who spread false notions and illusions?

4.    Nepotism

Whether in politics, Bollywood, or others, Nepotism is an ugly concept that makes real talents invisible and the last preference. In Bollywood, most actors or actresses are the children or grandchildren of some big industry names, irrespective of their talents.   The self-made actors are very few and can be counted. The Indian choice is a system with 100 per cent reservation for their own genetic material like royalty and sexually transmitted people.  Especially in Politics, mainstream cinema, business, and other occupations where talent is subordinate.

People rarely get to see new faces & talents in the name of nepotism. This is a matter since the century like Mughals kids rulings for years, Congress ruling before 70 years and other ancient’s rulers. And the most undervalued joke in India is when this class joins the middle class in nostalgic reservations for the deprived Indians from the “backward” castes in jobs & college.

5.    Plastic

Plastic is the major cause of high-rate pollution in India. Banning plastic is certainly an advantage for the environment. For starters, it diminishes the amount of non-biodegradable litter that blocks up storm drains and loads up in landfills. The ocean is made of solid waste that mostly consists of plastic garbage. Every day, India produces 33.1 million pounds of plastic left-over of which only 19.8 million pounds are composed and recycled, leaving the rest to contaminate water, kill cows, clog drains, and degrade the soil.

Many states have understood the need for the situation and banned plastic but some are still on the voyage of banning it. This creates an environmental imbalance and has worsened the health condition at large.
